When choosing the right design you have to wonder about what you will be using your kitchen island.

If you only need extra space for cutting vegetables and other food, it might be interesting to buy just a standalone work table. These tables are available in wood and stainless steel.

If your extra cutting space needs to be movable then you need to look for kitchen carts. These carts will fulfill your needs.

But when you need a solid extra working space and extra storage, then there is only one thing for you: The kitchen island. In accordance to your storage needs, you can choose shelves, drawers and doors. Glass doors really look nice and show your special accessories to your guests. Solid kitchen island doesn’t mean it can’t have legs, most of the islands that are bought after the kitchen is built have legs. Up to you if you like it or not, I prefer a built in kitchen island, as it is easy to clean a uses all the space there is available.
